Carbon Laser Peel
Carbon Laser Peel and the Many Names for One Popular Treatment
The carbon laser peel, in particular, is often dubbed the ‘Hollywood peel’ or ‘Red carpet peel’ because of celebrity interest. In Asia, talk of laser technology results has spread rapidly with the creation of two catchy nicknames, including ‘china doll peel’ and ‘porcelain peel’. No matter what it’s called, the results are the same – refreshed, exfoliated skin that is softened, smoothed, and firmed in just 20 minutes.
How does carbon laser peel work?
Unlike other laser treatments that rely exclusively on light energy to transform skin, the carbon laser peel is a 2-part process. First, a luxurious natural carbon cream is applied to the surface of the skin and allowed to dry. The non-toxic lotion looks something like a mud mask with a dark grey-brown coloring and rich texture. Natural carbon quickly absorbs oil, impurities, and dead skin cells from deep within pores and pulls toxins to the surface. The carbon mask also creates an even Plato for the laser energy. After the carbon mask is applied, it’s time for the Q-Switched laser.
Alma Q-Switched laser is the essential device required for this treatment. It is an ND: Yag laser which has wavelength of 1064nm**. This wavelength has a high absorption level in melanin and other dark pigment. Hence, the laser energy will be absorbed mostly in the carbon mask and create the glowing effect we’re looking for.
