An acupuncture facelift is a non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedure commonly touted as a holistic alternative to Botox injections. During an acupuncture facelift, a patient receives tiny needles in different areas of the face. The needles disrupt skin tissue in the body to increase collagen and elastin production and stimulate blood flow. As such, an acupuncture facelift helps patients eliminate wrinkles, frown lines and other visible signs of aging in the face. A cosmetic acupuncture treatment requires between 20 to 25 tiny needles to be inserted into the face. Meanwhile, an acupuncture facelift may be used to treat a variety of skin issues, including: Acne Dull skin Puffiness Rosacea (skin disease that causes facial redness or red, pus-filled bumps on the face) Skin that is too tight or lax A typical acupuncture facelift lasts between 45 minutes and one hour. Patients sometimes report no pain following a cosmetic acupuncture treatment. Conversely, some cosmetic acupuncture patients experience a stinging sensation or minor pain or discomfort after treatment.
